Message-ID: <4767EE1F.3060306@tilde.se> Hi, New binary kernels for 4.2 are now up at http://tilde.se/flashboot/ The big news this time is support for more platforms, including a new bootable cd. The Generic-kernel is now 100% in sync with the stock 4.2 kernel, this means that all drivers should be in there. Please give us a shout if this gives you problems. Regards, Rickard. Who are you, what are you using it on/for and why do you like it compared to other distributions. Also if you have which us to focus future development on anything specific. I know was a bit late with the 4.2 release, perhaps a few answers to my questions above will get 4.3 out faster, who knows. ;-) Rickard. rancor at dathomir.se wrote: > Big thanks to you and the other developers for making this! > > Flashboot together with Soekris is really nice stuff. > > // rancor > > On Tue Dec 18 16:58 , Rickard Dahlstrand sent: > > Hi, > > New binary kernels for 4.2 are now up at > http://tilde.se/flashboot/ > The > big news this time is support for more platforms, including a new > bootable cd. > > The Generic-kernel is now 100% in sync with the stock 4.2 kernel, this > means that all drivers should be in there. Mostly for network appliances (firewalls) and more recently spamd based bridges. The mindroot.org page does not seem to indicate many recent changes. That explains why my newfs patch for 4.2 never showed up. :-) I'm using flashboot on a few soekris boxes for home router/firewall, VPN endpoint, and wireless AP. The ability to easily update without pulling the CF card is what made me switch from flashdist. Keep up the good work. -John From russ at quist.ca Fri Dec 21 15:44:13 2007 From: russ at quist.ca (Russell Sutherland) Date: Thu, 20 Dec 2007 23:44:13 -0500 Subject: [flashboot] New binary release.. That's the main reason I switched to the flashboot framework over and above flashdist or a full install. Keeping upgraded every 6 months and with patches is a bit too much when an internal CF card is involved. It is a merge from flashboot's WRAP12 and SOEKRIS5501, as well as the GENERIC from 4.2-current.
