     -p      Preserves modification times, access times, and modes from the
             original file.

Unable to use -p.   And scp is not a replacement for rcp.  It is a migration 
path.  Many places can move from rsh to ssh by just replacing one command.  The 
replacement for rcp is really 'sftp'.
