This feature has been requested by many users over a period of many
years, and the OpenSSH maintainers have never engaged in an actual
discussion on the subject, prefering to at best, come up with hollow,
oft-refuted excuses, or at worst, stick their thumbs in their ears and
swing the banhammer on the relevant tickets. The OpenSSH response to
this problem is not befitting of a respectable group of maintainers.

I will repeatedly open this bug until you get a grip and start taking
the issue seriously. If you refuse to address it seriously, at least
leave one of the bugs open to the public so that users can continue to
levy their complaints and build up a body of evidence that you refuse
to address their grievances. I will not yield so long as the bug
tracker has no open tickets for this problem.
