The option TCPKeepAlive can be used to set SO_KEEPALIVE on the
encrypted
channel, but there is no way to set SO_KEEPALIVE on forwarded
connections.

Whether with TCPKeepAlive or some other option say ChannelKeepAlive,
SO_KEEPALIVE should be set on forwarded connections, -L and -D
connections created by sshd, and -R connections created by ssh.

Unclear to me whether it would be useful for ssh to be able to request
keepalive to be set by sshd on the -L and -D connections.
