Patch to pass fds on sco unix

The attached patch is against 10.3p1, which is what I've been running
and testing on. The C changes apply cleanly to 10.6p1. The only
conflict is in configure.ac: 10.6 added "no_fd_passing=1" just above
AC_DEFINE([DISABLE_FD_PASSING]) in the sco3.2v5 section, and both lines
should go. If no_fd_passing=1 stays, configure still prints the new
deprecation warning even though fd passing now works.

I haven't built or tested it on 10.6 yet. I can do that, or redo it
against current master if that's more useful to you.
