Hi:
Downloaded, built and installed 2.3.0pl1 for Linux.
Followed instructions but unfortunately the final configuration didn't go
well.
Problem:
The instructions for key generation bare no resemblance to what the current
man pages require. Quite frankly I am new to this and am quite confused.
" make host-key " doesn't work.
" ssh-keygen -b 1024 -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key -N "" " doesn't work.
" ssh-keygen -d -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" " doesn't work.
"Server failed host key check" is a common occurrence when attempting to
login with puTTY - at other times it appears to work.
I am removing openssh for the time being and installing ssh-2.3.0 - I really
require ssh running now.
Best regards,
Brian
