After rereading Stevens I am not sure that they are supposed to. It
looks like only stopped jobs are supposed to get a HUP (and then a
CONT).
pdksh, tcsh, bash1 bash2 don't HUP their children. ash does.
zsh will warn on the first exit "you have running jobs" and then hangs
up on the second.
The bash info page states that it does this too, but I see no evidence
that it works.
