This is not consistant with any of my installs nor the CVS tree.
sshd_config in 2.5.2 has 'subsystem' uncommented and the default before
processing is:

Subsystem       sftp    /usr/libexec/sftp-server

As far as I know we have never named sftp server 'sftpd'.  So I'm confused
at what your seeing here.
