OpenSSH-3.0.2p1 and Linux libc5

That's odd.  I don't get any such error when compiling on Red Hat Linux
4.2 (libc-5.3.12-18.4, kernel-2.0.35).  Richard, what are the details
of the platform you're compiling on?
