The perl script Ben mentions is one hacked together by Mark Roth to
translate the -mdoc macros into -man macros, so that you can install
actual troff source on systems without -mdoc macros instead of
installing preformatted source. This would allow you to use tools such
as RosettaMan (or whatever the devil that's called now) or troff -Tps
or whatnot.
