What if the IPv6 network is being slow?

What if IPv6 endpoints and IPv4 endpoints fall out of sync (i.e. 1.2.3.4 
is not IPv6 1.2.3.4)?

There's some pretty extensive ipv4/ipv6 transition nastiness to be dealt 
with, as described here:

I'd lean toward providing support for avoiding such hassles.
