why sftp instead of sfotp? (the o stands for other.)
because that's what users already know. sftp is secure on the network and
ftp to the user. There are lots of ftp clients but universally they all not
only support but mandate mget for getting multiple files.
SFTP exists because SCP isn't transparent enough (it sure as hell ain't
faster). SCP wasn't very usable, so it wasn't used, so security suffered
because FTP refused to die. SFTP was born, and has a chance to wipe out
FTP. You wanna tell me SFTP should be less usable than Windows95 ftp.exe?
