We use OpenSSH 2.9.9p2 scp and it has been at least 2-3 times faster than
ssh-1.2.27 ever was - as far as the data transfer goes.  The initial
"setup the connection" times are much slower for us in v2, but scp
transfers of any significant size (>1MB or so) makes up for it.  I always
wondered why ssh-1.2.27 was so SLOW... but just accepted it as the best we
had at the time.
