How different are the conventions? They can't be that bad. Would
symlinks from /etc/ssh suffice?
How about browbeating the customers into accepting the standard
location (/etc/ssh), reminding them of the benefits that real
portability <http://cr.yp.to/compatibility.html> gives them?
