For the free cdb packages, one may take a look at freecdb (repackage of
older cdb code for Debian), or my tinycdb package (this is an independent
implementation, written from scratch) - http://www.corpit.ru/mjt/tinycdb.html
Reportedly, it does work under win32 (in cygwin environment).
