That's the plan, yes.

For the non-PAM case (AIX, /etc/shadow, maybe HP-UX), probably.  I haven't
looked at PAM since it was changed.

At the moment I'm waiting for some infrastructure changes to either go
into OpenBSD or not (a "get login messages" monitor call, see [1]).  If
that (or something like it) goes in, then the changes can be sync'ed to
Portable and I can rework the patch.  If not, I'll update the existing
patch to -current and see what people think of it.
