I disagree. Requiring the entirely irrelevant $DISPLAY variable to be
set in order to persuade ssh to honour the $SSH_ASKPASS variable is
gratuitous, counterintuitive, and otherwise broken. IMHO.

Are there reasons for it which I've missed? Do you have a reason to want
it to stay the way it is?
