so regular "init/getty/login" sessions get what's in inittab's first field:

g1:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty.test -n 2 tty5d 
F8:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty5b

so it obviously doesn't need to have any relation to the device name...
