problem with DNS lookups on non-IPv4-only-mode?

Wouldn't it make more sense to offer a "sshd -6" option that people
desiring IPv6 functionlity should enable?  I understand that some or all
of you may use IPv6 on your networks, but the vast majority of the
Internet community does not...it seems to me that the exception should be
IPv6, not IPv4.
