Speaking for myself: I won't have time or hardware to review or merge
this patch for the forseeable future. Perhaps one of the other
developers might, but I don't know if anyone has the hardware necessary
to test it properly either.

I'd suggest that you put the patch, or a link to it in an enhancement
bug in bugzilla.
