Ah, sorry, no. It would probably be useful in implementing atomic file
upload, though.

I did just think of something which would be difficult to achieve by
implementing this client-side: removal of the temporary file if the
connection is lost. Also, perhaps some people have SFTP setups in
which users have write-only permissions?
