openssh sftp fails to start a session - oops

Sorry about the original query - it was as Tim says the /home/myuser directory was secured incorrectly and had permissions:
drwx------

As soon as I changed the permissions all was OK.

looks like a permissions problem.
Show us the output of
ls -ld / /home /home/myuser /home/myuser/openssh /home/myuser/openssh/libexec
ls -ld /home/myuser/openssh/libexec/sftp-server
