I wouldn't recommend the use of 2.68 yet; new autoconf versions have
almost always caused breakage on at least one platform. We still use 2.61.

Could you please file a bug at https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/ about
the problem? We might as well get ready for newer autoconf for when we
do switch.
