I can't reproduce this on the only OpenIndiana system I have at hand:

SunOS openindiana 5.11 illumos-f3ac678143 i86pc i386 i86pc
gcc 13.2.0
LibreSSL 4.3.1

If you want to dig into it further then I suggest looking at
regress/*.log
