Right now i do both every time but since my machine is not that fast i would like to avoid the first step. The latter *should* work, but I can't say for certain because I have never tried it. I usually do: 1. cvs up -AdP 2. Build and install a kernel 3. reboot 4. make build 5. misc/build.sh 6. "make everything" in flashboot This might be a bit time consuming if your machine is slow though. -d From massimo at cedoc.mo.it Wed Jun 14 19:32:18 2006 From: massimo at cedoc.mo.it (Massimo Lusetti) Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 11:32:18 +0200 Subject: [flashboot] building following current In-Reply-To: <448FD2FD.7040700@mindrot.org> References: <1150271009.4327.5.camel@massimo.datacode.it> <448FD2FD.7040700@mindrot.org> Message-ID: <1150277538.4327.12.camel@massimo.datacode.it> On Wed, 2006-06-14 at 19:12 +1000, Damien Miller wrote: > The latter *should* work, but I can't say for certain because I have > never tried it. > > I usually do: > > 1. cvs up -AdP > 2. Indeed i need a faster machine, it takes from 7 to 8 hours to complete make build. Anyway... this tool is GREAT! I'm happier day after day P.S. The list file contains ipsecadm and spppcontrol which aren't in the base system anymore. -- Massimo.run(); From djm at mindrot.org Wed Jun 14 19:37:43 2006 From: djm at mindrot.org (Damien Miller) Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 19:37:43 +1000 Subject: [flashboot] building following current In-Reply-To: <1150277538.4327.12.camel@massimo.datacode.it> References: <1150271009.4327.5.camel@massimo.datacode.it> <448FD2FD.7040700@mindrot.org> <1150277538.4327.12.camel@massimo.datacode.it> Message-ID: <448FD8E7.7040308@mindrot.org> Massimo Lusetti wrote: >> This might be a bit time consuming if your machine is slow though. > > Indeed i need a faster machine, it takes from 7 to 8 hours to complete > make build. Sure - I'm happy to include additional kernel configs in the flashboot releases, so long as either I have the hardware to test them, or the submitters ensure they will keep them up to date :) -d From stevesk at pobox.com Thu Jun 15 03:36:57 2006 From: stevesk at pobox.com (Kevin Steves) Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 10:36:57 -0700 Subject: [flashboot] building following current In-Reply-To: <1150280495.14772.5.camel@massimo.datacode.it> References: <1150271009.4327.5.camel@massimo.datacode.it> <448FD2FD.7040700@mindrot.org> <1150277538.4327.12.camel@massimo.datacode.it> <448FD8E7.7040308@mindrot.org> <1150279334.14772.1.camel@massimo.datacode.it> <448FE220.9020308@mindrot.org> <1150280495.14772.5.camel@massimo.datacode.it> Message-ID: <20060614173657.GA7547@steam.sbcglobal.net> On Wed, Jun 14, 2006 at 12:21:35PM +0200, Massimo Lusetti wrote: : I'm preparing a kernel conf file for a Via C3 based board with 4 10/100 : rl(4) interfaces. You can possibly use the COMMEL config which works with the IBASE 7204 (http://www.ibase-china.com/fwa7204.html). On the 7204 I see periodic hangs in npx when it tries an fp divide by zero, so I am using this workaround.
