[flashboot] 4.3 on ALIX.3C2

Greetings--

I'm trying (and failing...) to get flashboot to work with a PC Engines ALIX 3C2 board. I have flashboot working well on several systems, but this is the first PC Engines board I've worked with. When I try to boot using the PCENGINES.bsd from tilde.se, the boot fails like this:

I've tried compiling my own kernel, with the same result. However, if I do a standard install on a PC with a CF-IDE adapter, I can move the CF card over and it works (serial console output below). Does anyone have a working flashboot kernel config for this board? Or a pointer as to why the boot dies there?
