[Bug 401] ipv4 mapped address (ipv4 in ipv6) and ipv6 support fix

It was my impression that Linux 2.2 kernel's IPv6 support is pretty much
non-existance.  It barely works and is barely supported.  2.4 is when IPv6
actually became useful.

So I agree with Pekka.  I'm not sure we want this.
