openssh-2.5.2p2 on SunOS 4.1.3

In the INSTALL file it lists the perfered one:

PCRE (PERL-compatible Regular Expression library):
ftp://ftp.cus.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/programs/pcre/

Most platforms do not require this.  However older Unices may not have a
posix regex library. PCRE provides a POSIX interface.
