I just re-ran the test with 0.9.6 to be sure; no errors reported:

[...snip...]
OpenSSL 0.9.6 24 Sep 2000
built on: Tue Feb 6 11:06:44 CST 2001
platform: solaris-sparcv9-gcc
options: bn(32,32) md2(int) rc4(ptr,int) des(ptr,risc1,16,long) idea(int) blowfish(idx)
compiler: gcc -fPIC -DTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DDSO_DLFCN -DHAVE_DLFCN_H -mcpu=ultrasparc -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -Wall -DB_ENDIAN -DBN_DIV2W -DULTRASPARC -DMD5_ASM
[...snip...]

I'm going to try a hybrid of OpenSSL 0.9.6 from Solaris 7 with OpenSSH
2.3.0p1 from Solaris 8; if that works, then I've eliminated one possible
variable.
