man pages screwed

I think it was tabled until post-2.5.x release.  Too many things occured
at once and it all came much quicker then any of us expected.  I really
wish we would have had another few days for testing.  But alas it was not
to be. =)

I'll make sure it stays on my list.  If you have a first run at
configure.in patch feel free to post it.
