SunSSH (or at least v1.1?) uses a different set of PAM services for each 
SSH authentication type, but OpenSSH doesn't, and by default uses the 
basename of the binary.

It looks that if you configure the "sshd" service for the account stack 
to be the equivalent of what you have for SunSSH it would work:

sshd  account required       pam_mymodule.so.1
