A problem with the maillist

Just doing some cleanup of the massive piles of stuff that flow
into my email over the years. I was trying to unsubscribe given that
I have slipped into a certain age wherein I walk slow and think even
more slowly. Not sure what value I could provide other than the rare
message which says "My Sun SPARCStation 20 still runs and libssh2
compiles and tests clean!" Wonderful. So too does OpenSSH but there is
no trivial way to get a prng daemon in place. May as well give up.

So the procedure to unsubscribe is normally :

         1) send a message to a particular address that is similar
to the maillist. NOT the same address. Similar.

         2) await a reply which states "are you sure?" and it also
provides a confirmation code string. Usually a mess of hex.

         3) the message contents from (2) will also provide some
instructions that say where to email the confirmation code

         4) do the stuff instructed in (2) with the confirmation code
in the message as detailed in (3)

         5) await a message which states how there is great sadness in
the lands over such a loss and the servers themselves will
            shed tears for X time where X < 100ms.

Most of that works right up until (5). What I really get as a reply
is something with excellent mail headers and then some confusion :
