Not sure what the error was, but it seemed you got it done in the
meantime. Sorry for the hassle.

For what it's worth, I usually find the web interface easier:

https://lists.mindrot.org/mailman/listinfo/openssh-unix-dev

There you can do it via address/password as well as the email
unsubscribe flow.
