Whew, is it warm in here or is it just me :-?

Speaking of the regression tests, are there any plans to make them more
portable? The existing ones in -cvs aren't completely functional
out-of-the-box on over half the platforms I have access to.

Works: OpenBSD, Linux.
Doesn't: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris.

There's patches floating around (by Roumen Petrov and myself) to address
this. I'm prepared to roll up all of the changes and suggestions in the
following threads if there's some interest in merging the result.

Good judgement comes with experience. Unfortunately, the experience
usually comes from bad judgement.
